People in the Punjab province will soon be able to apply for driving license online through PITB’s upcoming mobile application “Rasta”.
It has been revealed that Punjab Information Technology Board is working on a new mobile app, that would facilitate citizens to do majority of tasks related to traffic without even leaving their premises.
These include e-challan online payment system, traffic situation reports, driving routes, emergency alerts and applying for a driving license.
Although specific details have not been provided, however the information says that citizens will only have to visit the driving center once to give a driving test, all other formalities will be taken care through the mobile app.
After the candidates pass the test and the fees have been cleared, the permanent driving license will be delivered to their address through courier.
This mobile app is currently in the test phase and will be rolled out soon for both Android and iOS users in Pakistan. If the project becomes a success in Punjab, this new system will be implemented in other parts of the country.
