By the end of 2022, Samsung wanted to finish rolling out One UI 5 based on Android 13, but it seems too optimistic. The company is still rolling out the software to more and more devices even today.
In this case, the lucky ones are the Galaxy A03 and the Galaxy F12. Even though the rollout might not be complete yet, we’re getting close. Since these two devices represent pretty much the bottom of the market, it’s unlikely that there are many other handsets that haven’t gotten the update yet.
Samsung’s Galaxy A03 is receiving the Android 13 update in Serbia. As firmware version A035FXXU2CVL4, the low-end smartphone is now equipped with One UI Core 5.0. As the name implies, these entry-level models get a subset of features from higher-end models, probably to avoid overtaxing the hardware, and hopefully the update will soon be available in other countries as well.
Nevertheless, the Galaxy F12 was always available exclusively in India, and so it is now that the new firmware, version F127GXXU3CVL4, is now available there. In this firmware, 46 security vulnerabilities are fixed, including the November 2022 security patch level. One UI 5.0 comes with lots of new features, so it’s probably worth updating just for those features.
If you own either of these smartphones and haven’t yet been notified about an update, you can download the update by going to the Settings app on their handsets and then clicking on Software update > Download and install.
