At the beginning of this year reports surfaced that the father of Android, Andy Rubin is going to make a Bezel-Less smartphone that will compete against the top flagship devices, like iPhone 7 Plus, Google Pixel XL and the Galaxy S7 Edge etc.

Now we get to the first sneak peak of this device, as Andy Rubin tweeted the teaser photo of this upcoming smartphone made by his company, Essential.

This teaser photo doesn’t give up much details and looks strikingly similar to the Mi MIX concept phone. However, this bezel-less device has a tiny ear speaker at the top of the metallic frame, so it might not be very similar to the Mi MIX concept.

The information gathered from anonymous sources say that the phone will have larger size than iPhone 7 Plus and it will feature a ceramic back-plate.

Rubin is going to use Android?

Looking closer at the teaser it seems that this phone is running Android, as the network and battery icon are quite similar to those in Android. Early reports also say that Rubin and his team are working on a proprietary 3D technology as well.

It would make perfect sense if Rubin uses Android in this phone with the enhancements they are working on, rather than writing a new software all together.

This flagship phone is expected to arrive in third quarter of this year. Essential Products is focused on creating smartphones, tablets, wearables and mobile software. This first smartphone will surely set the standard for upcoming devices from this company.
